Following the success of the first Malaysia Aerospace Summit organised by Malaysian International Trade and Industry (MITI) last year, the second Malaysia Aerospace Summit (MyAERO'18) is back to continue its initiative in promoting the local aerospace capability in producing world class aerospace products.
Seeing the positive growth of the aerospace industry, MITI was involved in a collaborative effort led by the National Aerospace Industry (NAICO), SME Corp Malaysia, MARA and AMIC to work together to position Malaysia as one of the important suppliers to Global OEMs such as Airbus, Boeing and Rolls Royce.
Our very own UMW Aerospace was one of the 35 exhibitors who supported this effort which was held at the MITI Tower, from the 14th – 15th of August 2018. Other homegrown companies including Composite Technology Research Malaysia (CTRM), National Aerospace & Defence Industries (NADI) and Global Turbine Asia highlighted the current progress as a Tier 1 Supplier to leading aerospace players such as Airbus, GE, Spirit AeroSystems, UTC Aerospace Systems, Honeywell Aerospace Avionics and Singapore Aerospace Manufacturing.
With the rise of new digital industrial technology, known as Industry 4.0, MITI also used this platform to promote the fourth industrial revolution that is said to change the trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies.
The main attractions at MyAERO’18 were the showcase of Aero Engines, Fan Casing modules, Fan Cowls, metallic aerospace components and aerospace Engineering & Design applications.
